Kuwait City: A huge fire broke out in a multi-storey building under construction in Sharq.
Twelve Civil Defence teams, consisting of 180 firefighters, which were deployed instantly managed to put out the blaze at the building which covers 380,000 square metres.
The Fire Department public relations directorate said that three servicemen had sustained injuries but no fatal casualties were reported.
Teams from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) also took part in putting out the blaze to and preventing the flames from spreading to eight neighbouring buildings due to strong winds.
An inquiry was launched to determine the causes of the blaze and assess the material losses.
