Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud patronised the final of the King's Cup football championship between Al Ahli and Al Hilal at Jeddah's King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Sports City stadium, according to SPA.
He was received on arrival at the half-time by Prince Khalid Al Faisal, advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Makkah Governor, Prince Khalid bin Saad bin Fahd, Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Jeddah Governor Prince Mishaal bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Prince Faisal bin Mohammed bin Saad, Prince Fahd bin Juluwe bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, and senior government and soccer officials.
Al Hilal snatched the King’s Cup winning the final 3-2. Omer Kherbain, a Syrian professional, scored the first goal for Al Hilal in the 28th minute while Mutaz Hawsawe got the equaliser in the 43rd for Al Ahli.
In the 77th minute, Mohammed Jahfali gave Al Hilal the lead again and Brazilian Carlos Eduardo made it 3-1 for Al Hilal.
In the dying minutes of the match, Omer Al Soma, a Syrian substitute, saved the hosts from an embarrassing result by making it 3-2.
