BAHRAIN’S national football team take on Tajikistan today in a friendly at 7pm at the National Stadium in Isa Town, reports MAZIN RIZK.
The match is part of Bahrain’s preparations for the upcoming third stage of qualifiers for the 2019 Asia Cup to be held in the UAE.
Bahrain kick off their first match of the qualifiers at home against Singapore on Tuesday. Both teams are potted in Group ‘E’ alongside Turkmenistan and Chinese Taipei.
The top two teams from the six groups will join the 12 teams that have already qualified in the earlier stages. The 2019 Asia Cup will be contested by 24 teams after having been expanded from the 16-team format used since 2004.
National team coach Miroslav Soukup called on 24-players to join the training camp which started earlier this week.
Tajakistan’s national team arrived yesterday afternoon and held a training session to prepare for the game.
The match will be refereed by Jordanian Mohammed Abou Loom and he will be assisted by Bahrain’s Ahmed Jaber and Abdulla Saleh while Abdulaziz Shereida will be the fourth official.
