Riyadh: Saudis and expats have been urged by the authorities to report their lost passports within 24 hours.
Violators who fail to comply with the new deadline will be fined SR1,000 to SR3,000.
Thecountry's General Directorate for Passports issued the warning, calling on expatriates to renew their residence visas before they expire and pay the required fees through banks according to Almarsd.
Expatriates who fail to renew their visas in time will be fined SR 500. The fine will be doubled every time the violation is repeated.
