Ahmed Al Qabbat scored twice to help Karzakan Youth Centre beat Saar Club 4-3 and reach the final of the National Day Beach Soccer Tournament.
Karzakan face Budaiya in tomorrow’s final, starting at 4pm.
The tournament, under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, son of the Crown Prince, is being played at the beach soccer ground behind Bahrain Football Association (BFA) headquarters in Riffa.
It was an intense match between the two sides, with Al Qabbat opening the scoring for Karzakan in the eighth minute of the first quarter. Karzakan managed to double their lead three minutes later through Hamad Al Zayed.
Karzakan extended their lead in the opening minutes of the third quarter as Sayed Hassan Ali netted their third goal. Saar also managed to get on the scoring sheet through Abdulla Mohammed who scored twice, in the fifth and 10th minutes of the quarter.
Saar’s players seemed motivated to take control of the game, and quickly scored the equaliser a minute later through Salman Salim. However, they were put down by an early goal in the fourth quarter by Al Qabbat, who gave Karzakan their win.
The second semi-final saw Budaiya Club clinch a 5-3 victory over Malkiya Club.
Budaiya’s Sadeq Marhoon scored three times while Ahmed Yaqoob got his name on the scoresheet twice to score Budaiya’s five goals.
For Malkiya, Abdulla Essa scored twice, with team mate Sayed Hussain netting once. However, their efforts were not enough to see them through.
On the final day of the tournament tomorrow, Saar face Malkiya in the third place playoff at 2pm.
