Muscat: Oman is all set to unveil the new-look smart identity cards for citizens and expatriates today, according to a report in the Oman Daily.
The General Directorate for Civil Affairs at the Royal Police of Oman said that the highly-secure ID cards would make forgery difficult.
The updated card features high security features and an additional photo of the holder in the middle.
The smart card has also been fitted with an updated electronic chip with more capacity to use new e-applications.
