Bahrain Club were last night crowned champions of the 2023-24 Bahrain Second Division Football League, while A’ali will join them in being promoted to next season’s top flight.
Bahrain Club secured the title after defeating Etehad Al Reef 1-0 in their season-ending fixture yesterday.
The result earned them 49 points to end their campaign, in which they claimed 15 victories from their 22 matches to go with four draws and three defeats.
A’ali, meanwhile, end their second division schedule as the runners-up, earning them a spot in the 2024-25 season of the Nasser Bin Hamad Premier League.
They were also winners last night, edging past Isa Town 1-0 in their contest. A’ali wrapped up their season with 46 points, winning 13 of their games while drawing seven and losing twice.
Also last night, Al Malkiya beat Um Al Hassam 1-0 to keep their hopes alive of gaining promotion for next season.
Having finished in third place on the second division table with 45 points, they will be joined by Al Ettihad, who are fourth on 43 points, in a qualifying event for the 2024-25 Premier League.
Malkiya and Ettihad will play a round-robin in this competition against two sides from the top flight, both of whom will be fighting to avoid relegation.
These matches have yet to be scheduled by the Bahrain Football Association.
