The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) intends to place a unified national tender for the purchase of medicines for government health institutions.
Deputy chairperson of the organising committee and head of the procurement section at the central stores Rihab Ahmed Al Naimi said that this comes as part of Bahrain’s progress in implementing the National Health Plan, which seeks to comprehensively develop the health services system.
She also stressed the importance of unifying the medication guide among health service providers, which contributes to improving the quality of health care and ensuring patient safety.
One of the most important reasons for the need for a medication guide is to standardise information between all health institutions, improve treatment decision-making, reduce medication errors, and facilitate communication and co-operation.
