Riyadh: A Saudi national has been arrested in Indonesia for trying to smuggle 10 snakes by hiding them in black socks he was wearing at the time.
Customs officers became suspicious of his luggage and screened it to discover the poisonous reptiles at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport.
He was planning to travel back to Saudi Arabia aboard a Garuda Indonesia flight.
Garuda Indonesia Spokesman Benny Butarbutar said that the Saudi passenger will remain in the custody of police pending further investigation, reported Arabic daily Al-Jazirah.
